Penngrove, California
Penngrove is a small, unincorporated town with a population under 3,000. It lies between the towns of Petaluma and Cotati in Sonoma County. It is about an hour north of San Francisco.

History
Penngrove is a small, rural community situated just north of Petaluma in Sonoma County. In the early 20th century, Penngrove was a freight station on the Northwest Pacific Railroad. The railroad tracks still run through Penngrove’s quaint downtown. Unfortunately, the Penngrove Rail Station burned down in 1980. Penngrove was once a large producer of eggs and chickens, similar to the nearby town of Petaluma.
2. Schools
Residents of Penngrove are part of the Petaluma City Schools District. Penngrove Elementary is a year-round charter school located in Penngrove which serves grades K-6th. Penngrove students then attend Petaluma Junior High and Petaluma High School on the west side of Petaluma.
3. Downtown
Penngrove’s Main Street is only a few blocks long. It still retains many historic buildings which now contain restaurants, shops, and bars.
4. Restaurants and Shopping
Try some fresh baked bread from Full Circle Bakery or grab some wood-fired pizzas and other provisions from the Penngrove Market. My favorite shop in Penngrove is Good Gray, which carries beautiful items for your home.
